Mason County Jail

Clothing

Interview with youngster

JM: What types of clothes were most common?
youngster: County blues. Basically nurse scrubs, but random sizes, and many were ripped up, filled with holes, and pocket-less.

JM: Did you have a set uniform? What did it look like?
youngster: Yeah, we had a set uniform. Blues. Basically dark blue hospital scrubs.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
youngster: Really, just getting a pair of blues that fit you right, weren't ripped up, and still had chest pocket on the shirt.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
youngster: pretty sure they had to wear the same county blues. Every time I eve saw any female inmates, they were dressed down in blue like I was.
